The OSRI announces a competition for Publications/Public Relations

The OSRI is seeking an individual or organization to produce publications and provide public relations work for 1 to 2 years, consisting of the following:

(1) Production, publication, and mailing of a biannual newsletter. Newsletter format: 11" x 17" tabloid style, 2-color printing, 4 pages. The target dates for publication of the newsletter are June 15, 1999 and Nov. 15, 1999. The proposal should include the cost of producing and mailing 500 copies of each newsletter.

(2) Ongoing public relations work on an as needed basis. This would consist primarily of press releases and brochure preparation, and is estimated to be an additional 160 hours of work over a one year period.

The proposal should consist of a flat rate for production of the newsletter, with an accompanying hourly rate for additional public relations work. The duration of this project is up to two years.

Application Process

Interested candidates must submit an OSRI grant application package. This application may be obtained as a downloadable file from the OSRI web page (http://www.pwssc.gen.ak.us/~osri) or from the OSRI by calling (907) 424-5800.

The original and three copies of the proposal, including the copy bearing the signed cover page, should be mailed to:

Proposals must be submitted in hard copy form. Proposals will not be accepted by FAX or electronically. They must arrive at the OSRI by the due date.

Proposal Evaluation

Proposals will be evaluated by the OSRI director, individual peer reviewers, and/or a review panel. The proposals will be evaluated based on the design submitted for the newsletter, the price, the experience of the proposer, and the ability to respond to requests in a timely fashion.

Awards

Proposals, due by March 18, 1999, will be evaluated by the method described above, and the awards will be made by April 19, 1999. Awards made as a result of this competition will be administered in accordance with the terms and conditions of the OSRI Grant Policy Manual.

Additional Information

The OSRI provides awards for research in the sciences, engineering and technology as well as educational programs. The awardee is wholly responsible for the conduct of such programs, research and preparation of the results for publication. The OSRI, therefore, does not assume responsibility for the research findings, their interpretation or implementation of programs.
