Board Structure

The composition of the OSRI Advisory Board was specified by OPA 90 and revised under the 1996 Coastguard Authorization Act. The revised board is comprised of 14 voting and 2 non-voting representatives:

Three Federal Representatives

Department of Commerce

Department of Interior

Department of Transportation
(appointed by the Secretary of each Department)

Three State Representatives

Department of Environmental Conservation

Department of Fish & Game

Department of Natural Resources
(appointed by the Commissioner of each Department)

Two Representatives from the fishing industry
from among residents of communities impacted by the Exxon Valdez oil spill
(appointed by the governor)

Two Alaska Native Representatives
representing Native entities affected by the Exxon Valdez oil spill.
(appointed by the Governor from nominations received from the Alaska Federation of Natives)

Two Representatives of the oil and gas industry
(appointed by the Governor).

Two at-large Representatives
from among residents of communities affected by the Exxon Valdez oil spill
(nominations submitted to and appointment is by the Advisory Board).

One non-voting Representative of the Institute of Marine Science, University of Alaska.

One non-voting Representative from the Prince William Sound Science Center .
